There is currently a wealth of products in the anti-ageing market claiming to do amazing things. However, beware of false profits! Although the majority of these products do act well as a moisturiser and are good for your skin, there are a limited number of products that have any real effect on anti-ageing. In the current climate one in three women over thirty use an anti-ageing product but the authorities on anti-ageing say lifestyle has the largest effect on the ageing process and perhaps this is the place to start. The ingredients found within many anti-ageing products do have proven effects on the skin: - Vitamin A can help diminish the depth of wrinkles, thanks to its light inflammatory action which 'puffs up' the skin to make wrinkles look less deep.
- Vitamin C has a brightening effect as it can help to boost circulation and collagen production.
- Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs or 'fruit acids') improve the skin's appearance by speeding up the shedding of old, dead cells from the skin surface.
- Retinoids are chemicals that make the skin produce new cells more quickly, making it thicker and more compact. After a month or two of use, the skin becomes smoother and fine wrinkles are reduced, but after six months it will be as good as it's going to get. If you discontinue use, the skin reverts to its previous condition. Has no effect on noticeable deep lines or thread veins.

Hi has anyone heard of Theraderm? I hadnt until the end of last year when I stumbled accross it shopping on www.thecosmeticpractice.co.uk. What a discovery the range is pretty small compared with some lines where you need 101 products so this relaly works for me where time is limited getting organised on a morning! My skin is much softer and more radiant and just feels healthy. Highly reccomended, plus delivery was fast .Beauty Products says:

I've found quite a few Skinceuticals products on here - http://www.salonlines.co.uk/skin-care/skinceuticals/ and although they're a little expensive I've been told they really do work, has anyone else used them before?Laura says:

I have a SilkPerfect pillowcase - which is very similar to the excellent-looking silkgifts ones, except that it uses habotai silk, rather than charmeuse (ie much less shiny). My hair and skin is much softer and silk repels bed bugs...so it's really a matter of personal choice.Cristian says:

Taking vitamins can really improve your ageing lines and maintain your young face for a longer while, but vitamins can be very expensive and that is why you should know all the discount vitamins offers on the market.OSOYOU.COM says:

Hi June
The silk that silkgifts use is very soft and luxurious - anyone who knows about silk will know that charmeuse silk is the best silk avaliable -
You must have tried a satin pillowcase which is a manmade fabric - that would make your head sweat - 100% natural silk does not make your head sweat and Cliffton Silk Gifts only use 100% natural silk
