Babyliss Pro 230 Radiance Straighteners
Friday, 01st August 2008 - 3:07pm

Babyliss Pro 230 Radiance Straighteners - prepare yourself for a brand new straightening experience!

babyliss straighteners

Whether you’re a busy always-on-the-go mum like Gwyneth; a work-hard, play-hard girl-about-town like Coleen or a globetrotting business woman-come-first lady like Carla Bruni you’ll want to get through your busy days safe in the knowledge that your hair looks just as good for your evening engagement as it did when you styled it in the morning. With this in mind BaByliss, the professional’s choice for haircare appliances, reveals its straightness breakthrough and introduces the next generation of hair straighteners, the NEW BaByliss Pro 230 Radiance. This innovative tool provides a completely new straightening experience, effortlessly achieving salon-sleek results that are proven to last for twice as long as other leading straighteners on the market, including GHD.

Here are the results of our testing here at Nouveau...

By Lauren (daughter Georgia, above)
"As the newest member of the Nouveau team, I was beaming from ear to ear when I was asked to trial the new Babyliss Straighteners. It was not until I saw the slightly evil glint in Steph's eye as she informed me I would need to provide the dreaded before and after shots that my bubble burst!

I have frizzy, bouffant, half curly, half wavy, thick, gigantic hair when its left to its own devices, and the thought of my before mugshot navigating its way around the world via the world wide web did nothing for me. So as any mother would do, I made my 14 year old daughter do it!!

Now I have to say, I've bought into straighteners before thinking what they would be as good as ghds, and I've been sadly disappointed, so I went into this trial thinking the same. Upon opening the box, I was impressed by the lovely red and grey carry bag they were presented in with its incorporated heat mat, but I did think the straighteners looked somewhat bulky, in comparison to my ghd's.

They heated up very quickly, and the temperature can be controlled, but I obviously whacked them up to max power! There are some gimmicky looking " retractable de-tangling fins" that can be adjusted according to your hair thickness, and I had no faith in these whatsoever until I tried them, and I am surprised to say, they made straightening my tangled locks a breeze! I found the steam blitzed through the curls, but you do have to be careful! For me it was better to steam and then go over once with the steam turned off.

Now here's the thing that makes these straighteners stand out as different - they straighten your hair and it lasts for ages...even in the hot and clammy temperatures we have had this week, myself and my daughter both said our hair stayed straight much longer than usual, and that is why I love them!

I do actually prefer them to ghd's, and I honestly never thought those words would come from my lips! The fact that they are a quite cumbersome is forgiven, I suppose they need to be a little bigger than the norm to house the steam reservoir."

I honestly don't think GHD's are better than these. This one if ridiculously good. It straightens your hair for somewhat endless days if you have the steam function on; but you'll just have to spend up to two minutes redoing it in the morning which i find a helpful upside, since i use remington and toni and guy, no matter how many times i straightened my hair with them my hair would return to it's annoying flicky, messy, static state. Can't say the same for the toni and guy straightener, it helps me for almost the whole day i would recommend both the toni and guy straighteners and the babyliss 230 radiance ones. I'll be hanging onto these for quite some time.

i got these at christmas and they're amazing. it doesn't take me long to get my hair really straight, and it also keeps my hair straight all day. for a while now, they seem to cut off whenever i move the top of the cable. it still does it, but i'm used to it. it gets quite annoying sometimes. apart from this, they're very good and i would recommend them. :)

iv'e got the babyliss BaByliss Pro Ceramic Straighteners exept they are the ones down from them and ive had them for about a year now and godd i have droped them lots and lots and they hare so great i bought mine for 70 and now i tjink there are 23 so yep i would recomend them to anyone the only fault is when i have straightned it about 10 seconds later i have to do it again and that makes my hair quite dry but still really good !!

Definitely have a preference for the GHD straighteners over brands like Babyliss, Chi, etc.

I've tried both the Babyliss pro 230 and GHD IV straighteners and my preference is the GHD, only because they leave my hair feeling smoother for longer.

Am I the only one who finds my Pro230's better than the radiance. I've always used Babyliss - except for a short time I tried the GHDs - but I have now gone back to my old ones. My hair felt awful, flyaway and unnatural.

I just got some for christmas, and I think they are amazing! My GHD's broke last year, and I really wanted some pink ones for christmas, but all you pay for is the name.

These straightners are just awesome, and I get what you all say about the bulky-ness, BUT, you get used to it.

go buy them NOW!

If you want amazing, shiney, straight hair!!!

im really surprised my ghds ar my ghds i really cant see any other straightener being better than them anyway i bought these for half price from argos few days ago and am surpised they are really really good i have always thought there can be nothing better than ghd dont get me wrong ghd straighten but these babyliss pro radiance straigten but it lasts and last u dont have to straighten again and my hair looks healthier more glossier than with ghd i have coloured hair ends slightly dry but this is fab steam is great bit bulky but it really does the job i dont think i will be using my ghd for a while cant believe im saying that they are worth buying especially those of us with thick hair oh and it takes me less time than my ghd

I bought these yesterday and they straightened my hair in minutes i normally take about 10-15 mins going over them as my hair is really thick with kinks but i only needed to go over them once and didnt need to this morning.

The new Toni & Guy signature straighteners get a thumbs up from me.....they are just like GHD's but with a good thirty pounds off. Many people don't want to risk not using GHD's just in case they don't come up trumps...but believe me the new signature ones are just as good if not better!

hi there i used to use ghd's all the time as everyone went on about how good they are, i have very curly thick hair which is hard very hard to stay straight and i was shown corioliss and i can only say my hair is silky smooth and flows like silk, stays straight for many hours so cant fault them, so if someone can tell me this new found straightener is better than them i will be really impressed

ive tried alot of diffrent kinds of hair straighteners but i always seem to go back to corioliss, alot of people say that ghd are the best brand out there but i really dont agree, me and a few family members always use corioliss because we cant find fault in them atall, i got a pair of ghd's and corioliss straighteners from
corioliss hair straighteners and the ghd's just didnt seem to to the job properly where as for the corioliss they shaped my hair lovely, im going to try the NEW BaByliss Pro 230 Radiance
