There are different forms of waxing currently available. These are sugaring, hot wax and cold wax. However, the most popular and most effective form of waxing is cold waxing. It is best used with a pre-wax cleanser. This cleans the area where wax is to be applied so the hair will grip to the wax strips. Talcum powder is also often used to prepare the surface of the skin. A spatula is then used to apply the wax to the skin in the direction of the hairs. A strip is then applied over the wax, again in the direction of the hair. The wax is then left to cool. Once the wax has set the strip is pulled off the skin in the opposite direction of the hair as quickly as possible, taking with it any hair in the waxed area as well as some dead skin.
Tip: Slapping the skin straight after removing the hair relieves the stinging sensation!
The hair is then left to grow for approximately 6 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle. The more the waxing process is carried out, the finer the hairs become and the less painful the treatment becomes. It is recommended that you use an after wax solution. The after wax solution will cool the skin and make you feel more comfortable relieving the slight burning sensation often felt after waxing. The best after wax solutions are tea tree based products because of their antiseptic properties.
Important: When waxing a very thin surface layer of skin is removed. This renders the area very sensitive. It is important not to use any perfumed products, sunbeds, steam rooms, saunas and not to sunbath or touch the area repeatedly for at least 24 hours.

If you like natural products you have to try Nads natural wax, they have a wax that requires no heating and it made from all natural products ( its just like toffi (main ingredient is sugar ) They also have warm waxes for your bikini area which i love and saves you money rather than getting it doen at the salon.
they have a site www.nads.co.uk if you want to check it out

After waxing I along with a number of my customers recommend using Princereigns Ingrown Hair Serum to sooth, hydrate and eliminate those little red pimples one gets after waxing the skin.
My personal aim is to raise the awareness of Ingrown Hair and to introduce Princereigns Ingrown Hair Serum as the final step in the waxing process just as The European Wax Centre has done.

Kim Lawless 'The Wax Queen' here. There's a new generation of waxes out there now and the above method is really out of date.
I recommend oil under the wax instead of talc (yes oil) and no slapping. Never heard of that one. Kim xxx

I think sugar waxing is the best. Waxing is the best method to remove hair. All natural and cheap too. i really do not like to use any chemical product myself as this is too risky for my skin. So to everyone out there go for natural.Leave a Reply
